Now all of you know that the Friday The 13th franchise is a huge franchise, it has 12 movies, including a reboot, and two video games! It's had a long a rich and storied past and now, a sketchy future. As you may (or may not) know, the Friday The 13 franchise has been caught up in a tricky lawsuit, which stems from Victor Miller claiming he owns a rights stake in the franchise because he wrote the script for the first movie, and Sean S.Cunningham saying Victor is not entitled to anything.
My beef, however, is not with Sean Cunningham or Victor Miller, its with Gun Media, a d Illfonic. When this lawsuit started Gun Media and their lawyers said the game would be unaffected by the lawsuit. Then a bit later, they retracted that and said they were affected and they could not make any new content for the game.
They did however, assure us that when the lawsuit was settled they would be back on track for more DLCs and the like....... Then something happened. I'm not sure what it was and Gun Media or its Co-founder Wes Keltner, hasn't said (as far as I know), but now they said they will not release any new content EVER!
The excuse they (Wes) gave us is this, Here is the link, so you can see for yourself. http://forum.f13game.com/topic/20227-questions-about-future-content/ Hey Campers,
Sorry for the silence as of recent. It’s been a tough couple weeks, as I’m sure you’re aware. But I wanted to address a few questions that I’ve had sent to me personally, as well as questions we’ve received through the official F13 channels. These questions vary but all have a similar tone/request. “Is there a chance of any content being added to the game if a ruling on the dispute occurs in the near future?” The answer is no.
Development on games can’t just pause indefinitely and pick back up again; it doesn’t work that way. Especially when you have no idea when that future date will occur. We can’t keep building content that may never see the light of day. That’s bad business. I’ve also had questions about adding “non-F13” related content to the game. “Can’t you make a new level or a new counselor that has nothing to do with the films?” We can’t do that either. We can’t add any content, whatsoever. Nada. Not even a new tree or rock. We can only focus on console dedicated servers, bug fixes, and maintenance.
I know this isn’t the news you wanted to hear and I wish the situation were different. But it’s the painful truth. I appreciate your passion and look forward to seeing everyone around camp.

In my opinion, that answer is complete BULLSHIT! Sounds more like a shit way for the company to get out of the game. Sure when it first launched the game was a bit rough and rocky, but now its pretty much the best damn thing that's happened to the franchise since Jason got his hockey mask in part 3!
Now, I will agree with Wes on one point, it would be bad business to continue to make tons of content, then for one reason or another, not be able to release it. That would be a waste of time and resources. But what's worse for business, is shitting on the fans of the game, and the franchise by killing this game!
You don't have to constantly write and code content for the game, If Gun Media is working on another project and they happen to have an idea for Friday The 13th, how much money and time will it cost to jot down the idea on a note pad to possibly work on later.... honestly, how hard or costly is that??
Furthermore, (in my opinion, and my guess) I'm pretty sure most of the character models and maps are pretty well done for Uber Jason and the Grendel maps, and probably need just a bit of tweaking. Why not release them when the lawsuit is over?
This game can be a damn goldmine! Once the lawsuit is done , the game has unlimited possibilities!! Tons of areas to add, you could even add Jason's mom as a killer!
Look Gun Media, we Friday The 13th fans are loyal to the franchise and the game! We want to know, no, we deserve to know the real reason you're considering abandoning or have abandoned adding content to this game.
